Amad Diallo officially loses manager

Amad Diallo stands out as one of Manchester United’s brightest talents ahead of the new campaign starting in just a matter of weeks.

The 21-year-old, who came through United’s academy set-up, made 32 Premier League appearances last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Notably, he got an assist in the Red Devils’ infamous win at Anfield against Liverpool whilst also securing a point late on at Nottingham Forest last November.

With the new campaign approaching, Amad is coming into his fourth full campaign with the club but is also coming off the back of the World Cup finals with Ivory Coast.

Playing a vital role for his country, Amad Diallo scored two goals for Ivory Coast in the side’s World Cup games although they were defeated by Norway in Round of 16 late on due to an Erling Haaland goal.

Now, following the defeat, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) have announced that head coach Emerse Gas has left his role following the expiration of his contract.

“The contract of Mr Emerse Fae, head coach of the Ivory Coast national team, expired on July 31, 2026, and will not be renewed,” a statement from the Federation reads.

Fae managed 36 games in charge of Ivory Coast, winning 25 with a win percentage of 69%. The 42-year-old, who played for Ivory Coast between 2005 and 2011, also won African Cup of Nations in 2025 as head coach and led them to the World Cup this summer.

The Federation thanked Fae for his contribution to football in the nation, saying that the achievements and progress made would be “an important part of the recent history of Ivorian football.”

With the 42-year-old having left his role as  manager, the search for a new boss starts. The Federation state this will take place at a later date.
