The Napoli attacker first crept onto the radar of several media outlets earlier this week, when it was claimed in Italy that the Bhoys wanted to bring the Italy U21 player to Scotland, possibly on an initial loan, with an option-to-buy included.
Brendan Rodgers is apparently in the marketplace for TWO strikers this close season, with Japanese star Shin Yamada said to be on his way to the club, as the potential £1.5 million deal took a massive step forward. There’s also the impact of Nicolas Kühn leaving for Como in a £17.2 million deal that was confirmed this afternoon, which should see business ramped up considerably as the Hoops get their squad bolstered for this coming campaign.
Reports from Belgium seem to confirm that long-time target Michel-Ange Balikwisha will indeed pen a contract at the Scottish Premiership Champions in the aftermath of Kühn’s exit, replacing the German on that right wing slot for Rodgers.
Whilst that was all coming together, rumours percolate that the Celts are also very keen on Nicolas Kühn’s replacement at Rapid Vienna, Isak Jansson, although the inflated €10 million figure would would have counted Celtic out of the bidding for a player who cost Rapid Vienna €200k just 18 months ago. OGC Nice though felt there was still value in bringing Jansson in at that aptly inflated price and the deal was accordingly signed last night,
Meanwhile, Ambrosino has had the first real, material bid put in for his services, which arrived on Napoli’s desk from local outfit Cremonense. According to Italian journalist Arazzio Accomando, they have made a bid of around €3 million (£2.5 million) for the man who scored that beautiful freekick against his German counterparts at this summer’s U21 Euro’s, and have also offered the Naples club a future percentage of any potential sale when that moment arrives.
Taking to Twitter (X), he said:
“Situation #Ambrosino: the #Celtic persists with the player’s entourage, but as of today, there’s a gap with #Napoli. This morning, a new push from #Cremonese. Offered 3M, with a percentage on future resale. #Cagliari remains watchful for a loan.”
Situazione #Ambrosino: il #Celtic insiste con entourage del giocatore, ma ad oggi distanza con il #Napoli. In mattinata nuovo rilancio #Cremonese. Offerti 3M, con percentuale su futura rivendita. #Cagliari resta vigile per un prestito. @sportmediaset

With Celtic still in the mix and the player interested and reportedly keen on the idea of playing Champions League football, we could still hold the ace in this particular situation. Ultimately, if the player favours a move to Paradise over Cremonense, then that will play a crucial role in deciding what the outcome will be. Therefore, if Celtic and Brendan Rodgers really want him to come to Scotland, we will close that gap with Napoli over valuation and make sure this one gets over the line.
We’ll be watching on with bated breath…
Incredibile ITALIA.
In 9 vs 11 – Ambrosino pareggia su punizione e porta l’Italia ai supplementari.
