Federico Chiesa and Rasmus Hojlund are eager to get more playing time in 2025-26, and they already have a few options for a Serie A return.
Football Italia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà reports that two struggling Premier League strikers, Chiesa and Hojlund, may return to Serie A in 2025-26.
Both players, in fact, have attracted interest from Serie A, specifically from Napoli and Inter.
“Chiesa is one of Conte’s long-time favourites. Napoli had already attempted to sign him the previous year, but Juventus struck a deal with Liverpool,” Pedullà wrote in his column for Caught Offside.
“However, his English adventure hasn’t gone as he hoped. He received little playing time under Arne Slot, and it’s expected to decrease even further next season. A return to Serie A, possibly with Conte, would be far from unlikely.
“Hojlund is not satisfied with his time in Manchester and is considering a return to Italy,” continued Pedullà.
“Several clubs (including Inter) are interested in him and he’d be an excellent option for those seeking a dynamic and already proven striker.”
Chiesa has already played in Serie A for Juventus and Fiorentina, while Hojlund spent one season at Atalanta before joining Manchester United in a deal exceeding €75m in 2023.
Chiesa has recently spoken about his future at Liverpool, saying that he was focused on being fully fit for the start of the pre-season.
However, he refused to close the door for a return to Serie A, where he could even reunite with his ex-Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri at Milan.
