Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has welcomed new coach Francesco Calzona.

Calzona takes charge after the dismissal of Walter Mazzarri, but will jobshare as he will also remain Slovakia's national team coach.

De Laurentiis announced on social media: "I would like to thank Walter Mazzarri, a friend of the De Laurentiis family and Napoli, for supporting the team at a difficult time.

"He will remain in the hearts of the Neapolitans and our family.

"Welcome back to Francesco Calzona, who has already worked with us with both Sarri and Spalletti."

Indeed, Calzona is a former assistant coach at Napoli with both Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti.
