Report: Earthquakes assistant coach Benjamin Galindo hospitalized due to stroke

Former Mexico National Team midfielder and current San Jose Earthquakes assistant coach Benjamin Galindo has been hospitalized because of an apparent stroke, according to ESPN's David Faitelson.

Per the official Earthquakes website, Galindo, nicknamed "El Maestro," featured for Tampico, Chivas, Santos Laguna, Cruz Azul, and Pachuca during an impressive club career.

Galindo helped Cruz Azul win the 1997 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Galindo earned 65 caps and scored 28 goals for El Tri, and he played for Mexico at the 1994 World Cup, and 1993 and 1995 Copa America tournaments.

A former head coach for multiple Mexican sides, Galindo joined the Major League Soccer outfit as an assistant in 2018.
