Zinedine Zidane could take Paris Saint-Germain job if Mauricio Pochettino leaves for Manchester United?

English Premier League club Manchester United officially parted ways with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday, and ESPN's Mark Ogden is already linking Paris Saint-Germain head coach and former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino with the United opening assuming Pochettino would be willing to complete an exit from the French giants either in December or January.

Paris Saint-Germain may already have a big-name replacement for Pochettino in mind if he is considering a return to the English top-flight.

ESPN's Julien Laurens reports the Parisians have reached out to footballing legend and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane about their potential vacancy at the position. Some may view Zidane as an upgrade over Pochettino regardless of the latter's intentions, and Laurens adds the World Cup winner is interested in the PSG job if rumors that Pochettino is unsettled there are accurate.

Zidane, 49, guided Real Madrid to three consecutive Champions League titles from 2016-18 and twice won the La Liga crown during a pair of stints with Los Blancos. He left the Bernabeu a second time this past May and was mentioned as a potential future France national team coach in July.

Zidane is no stranger to managing big names and, thus, would have no issue offering instructions to superstars such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar. It's also worth noting PSG may feel acquiring Zidane could consider Mbappe to commit his future to the club, as the 22-year-old is out of contract after the current season.
