Vinai,

Good morning and may I take this opportunity to welcome you to “Tottenham Hotspur Football Club”

I hope that you have enjoyed your initial few days and are quickly feeling at home in your new surroundings.

I have followed the club home and away since 1990 and am passionate with regard to my support of the club.  Please, can I ask what direction the club is currently heading?

It would be foolhardy to keep faith with Ange Postecoglou; let us not forget that we lost 22 league games and finished 17th in the league.  We were precariously close to a relegation battle, with those promoted the previous season being relegated.

Relegation would have been unthinkable, both financially and for the reputation of the club.

If the playing staff are all currently behind “Ange”, where were they during these flat performances?  Whilst we were all delighted to win European honours, this achievement must not “paper over” the very visible gaps.  Should we continue with Ange as soon as results start going against him, he will immediately be under pressure.

Top players seemingly will not want to consider joining us because of last season’s league placing.  Whilst many of our fan base is thinking with heart and emotion, we must employ logic and make long-term decisions based on the best interests of the club.

Only weeks after our European success, we have many rumours circulating that all may not be well internally within the club.  From a public relations perspective, very clear messages need to be sent regarding our direction and intention for the season ahead.

Already, we have seen our beaten finalist opponents (Manchester United), strengthen their squad with the signing of Matheus Cunha and linked with Bryan Mbuembo, however, we appear to be standing still?  What was the point of our European success if we do not plan to use this as a catalyst for future success?

We possess world-class training facilities and a stadium, now we need to aspire to match the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal with regard to on-field success.

The numbers in attendance for our victory parade act as a “reminder” as to how big this football club is.  We now need a leadership team with the energy and focus to turn the vision into reality, and this starts with our coach!

The likes of Son (Whilst still attracting a transfer fee), Davies (A great servant to the club, but entering his 11th season), Bissouma (Simply not good enough), Richarlision (The worst signing in recent memory), all need to be moved on.  This allows more experienced and better-quality playing staff to be brought into the club.

With our nearest rivals all strengthening, we need to have a clear plan in the transfer market.  Participating in the European Champions League, the quality of opposition will be better, if we attempt to match them with the playing staff that lost so regularly last season, we are taking a massive gamble!

Additionally, if we keep faith with a coach with such limited coaching qualities and a reluctance to change it will be a repeat of last season.  By this I mean Ange’s clear reluctance to deploy a central defensive midfielder and insistence to play a continued high line at the back easily by-passed by a high ball over the top.

It would also be risky to hand a transfer budget to a coach selecting his playing staff, that in the event he leaves the club, are not welcomed by a future coach.

As fans we simply ask that you listen to our concerns and understand our frustrations.  We share the same ambition, to win things!

May I take the opportunity to thank you for considering my opinions and wish you a successful tenure at our club.

Can you confirm if Fabio Paratici is returning to the club?  As it is clear that we need people who understand the game and know how transfers are completed, many of the fan base have never seen the value that Scott Munn brings to the leadership team, and clarity would be welcomed.

Kind Regards,

Chris B
