Tottenham fans are excited to see how Thomas Frank gets on at N17 following his high-profile switch from Brentford. The Danish tactician did an exceptional job at the West London club, helping them get promoted to the top-flight in 2021. Not only that, but the 51-year-old also managed to make the Bees a solid mid-table team in the Premier League.
The Spurs fans can sleep a little better knowing that the club can only go upwards in the Premier League next season. After a disastrous domestic campaign last year, Thomas Frank must look to finish in the top half of the league table. It is not going to be an easy task at all, but the Dane can certainly try his best and make his team play attacking football.
The players will also be keen to make a mark and kickstart a new era at N17 next season. After winning the Europa League against all odds last year, the squad should aim to build on the success and continue the winning momentum. Thomas Frank has also stated that he wants to make Tottenham ‘serial winners’ during his tenure at Hotspur Way.
Not many can accurately predict how Tottenham will perform next season. The Lilywhites endured a ‘rollercoaster’ campaign last year under Ange Postecoglou. Ange’s men finished 17th in the Premier League, but they also went on to win the Europa League by defying all odds. So, fans will only hope that the club manages to build on the Europa League success, and Thomas Frank helps the Lilywhites finish in a strong position in the league.
Now, Gareth Bale is also hesitant to predict how Spurs will fare next season. Speaking to ESPN, Bale said,
“I do not know, because with a new manager comes new signings, a new way of playing. So, it is a bit of the unknown. I think everyone is still happy from last season and probably not really thinking about this season yet, but I think the new manager has obviously a proven record of how he plays football. I think it is definitely the way that Tottenham like to play.”
The Spurs legend added,
“Again, it is kind of the unknown. Who does he sign? Who does he bring in? Yes, it is an unknown, but I think it, hopefully, it is potentially exciting times, because this team now has got that winning feeling. They know what it is like to get over the line, and hopefully that keeps giving them the motivation to want to win more.”
Gareth Bale cannot predict how Tottenham’s season will go, but he believes that Thomas Frank is the right man for the job because of his way of playing football. The Spurs legend is worried about the players coming in as well. However, Bale adds that the Lilywhites might be motivated to perform well next season after experiencing the feeling of winning a major trophy last year.
Thomas Frank needs to pick up points quickly next season and gain some momentum early in the season. The Lilywhites have favourable fixtures to begin with, and winning a few games on the trot might just help the club gain some positions on its rivals. The ex-Brentford boss wants to build on ‘foundations’ set by Big Ange, and winning crucial games at the start will be the best way to start his tenure at N17.
