Filipe Luis is a name which has to be watched on the manager market this summer according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are once again looking for another head coach having sacked Liam Rosenior last month, less than four months after appointing him.
Rosenior was the second head coach to leave Stamford Bridge this season, following the departure of Enzo Maresca in January.
With Calum McFarlane in interim charge for the remainder of the season, Chelsea’s sporting directors are conducting their search for a new head coach.
It’s believed there are seven or eight names under consideration, with Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Xabi Alonso said to feature highly in Chelsea’s thinking at this stage.
It’s been reported nothing is advanced with Chelsea and Alonso, whilst Crystal Palace and Manchester United are also interested in Iraola.
However, Romano has reported there’s another name to look out for in the managerial market this summer.
“Another name we have to watch on the manager market is the name of Filipe Luis,” he told his YouTube channel.
The Brazilian, who used to play for Chelsea is currently out of work having left Brazilian club Flamengo, who beat the Blues at the Club World Cup last summer.
Luis is believed to be working to get is UEFA Pro License so he can manage in England, and was linked with the job when Maresca left.
Calum McFarlane has hinted Levi Colwill could start the FA Cup final after an impressive performance against Liverpool.
Colwill started his first game of the season at Anfield following an ACL injury, and Chelsea immediately looked better both defensively and in their build-up play.
