The Frenchman had to leave just before half-time in Monterrey’s 1-0 win over Club León after dislocating his shoulder, raising concerns about another long absence.

According to talkSPORT, Anthony Martial is expected to be out for four to six weeks if surgery can be avoided.

If an operation is necessary, however, that recovery could extend dramatically, keeping him sidelined for three to six months.

This is another tough blow in what has already been a challenging time in Mexico for the former United attacker.

Since arriving from AEK Athens in September, Martial has struggled to find rhythm and consistency.

He has scored only one goal in 19 matches for Monterrey, with fitness issues again limiting his performance and confidence.

This latest injury will likely rule him out of upcoming Clausura games against Pumas UNAM, Cruz Azul, and Queretaro, a major setback for a team currently sitting sixth in the standings.

Monterrey invested significantly in the transfer, reportedly paying around £3.6 million to bring Martial to the Estadio BBVA, where he remains under contract until 2027.

Martial’s career has dipped sharply since his permanent exit from Old Trafford after spending nine years at the club.

A brief loan at Sevilla was followed by a move to Greece, where he showed flashes of form with seven league goals in 16 games for AEK before injuries struck again.

Now at 30, questions inevitably arise about whether his body will ever let him reach the potential once so clear in his early United days.
