Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has endured a positive start to life at N17. A lot of eyebrows were raised when the Danish tactician was appointed as Ange Postecoglou’s successor. Many fans also believed that the step up from Brentford to Tottenham was too big for him, and he would struggle to cope up with the pressures that come with the Spurs job.
But it is fair to say that the ex-Brentford boss has handled the pressure well for the time being. The positives have undoubtedly outweighed the negatives, in terms of performance on the pitch and Thomas Frank’s tactical setup. And the Danish tactician also got off to a flying start after the Lilywhites registered two wins out of two in the Premier League.
However, the unbeaten start did not last long as Spurs faltered against Bournemouth this week. The performance against the Cherries was not up to the mark at all, indicating that the players had become complacent. But the loss against Andoni Iraola’s side comes at a good time, as Thomas Frank will now have two weeks to rectify the errors and get his team ready again for the next game.
Well, Tottenham fans are doing their utmost to keep their expectations as low as possible for this season after enduring a disastrous domestic campaign last year. However, Thomas Frank has wasted no time in stating that he wants the Lilywhites to ‘become serial winners’ during his tenure at N17. It is easier said than done, and the Danish tactician has already put himself under pressure by making this promise.
But Benjamin Stambouli believes that the ex-Brentford boss will manage to lead the club to glory this season. Speaking to Capital Football, Stambouli said,
“Football is made of choices and only time will tell whether it was the right call. But I’ve followed Frank at Brentford where he did a nice job.”
The ex-Spurs player added,
“He’s a very positive person and I think he’ll do this club a world of good. Winning the Premier League is possible, anything is in football. The proof is, I won Ligue 1 with Montpellier. I wish Tottenham the best.”
Benjamin Stambouli believes that Tottenham have made the right call by replacing Ange Postecoglou with Thomas Frank. The ex-player added that the Danish tactician did a good job at Brentford, and he will be able to replicate the same at N17. Stambouli also suggests that ‘anything is possible’ after hinting that Spurs could win the Premier League this season under Thomas Frank.
As the adage goes… “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land among the stars,” and that is exactly what Spurs should look to do this season. Thomas Frank should take each game as it comes and try to carve out positive results. And the Dane might just lead the Lilywhites to another major trophy against all odds.
