Real Madrid are holding their La Liga title-winning celebrations on Sunday, having opted to delay the events from last weekend, when their victory became official. The day started at Madrid’s Community Headquarters, with the squad having since moved on to City Hall, where they were greeted by Jose Luis Martinez Almeida, the city’s Mayor.
Almeida greeted the entire Real Madrid team upon their arrival at City Hall, and he shared a humorous moment with Lucas Vazquez, who asked him whether he’d swap sides in the Madrid rivalry – Almeida is a well-known fan of Atletico Madrid.

Almeida, Nacho Fernandez and Florentino Perez all spoke at City Hall, before the Mayor was presented with a personalised Real Madrid jersey – not that he’d probably want much to do with it.

Real Madrid are not en route to the iconic fountain of La Cibeles. where their celebrations will be crowned. They will hope to be returning there in three weeks’ time, this time with the Champions League trophy in tow.
