Arne Engels has taken to social media to express his gratitude to Celtic fans after a standout debut season at Celtic…
The Belgian playmaker marked the end of his first campaign in Glasgow with a heartfelt message to supporters, reflecting on a year that saw him quickly become a key figure in Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Engels, who arrived from Bundesliga club Augsburg last summer in a record-breaking £11 million transfer, made an immediate impact in Scottish football. The 21-year-old featured in 52 matches across all competitions, contributing 10 goals and 13 assists as Celtic secured a domestic double.
Following a largely successful first season at Celtic, Engels took it upon himself to send a heartfelt message to the Celtic support to thank them for the ‘energy’ generated at both home and away fixtures.
Writing on Instagram, Engels gave his praises of the Celtic support, and accompanied his message with a video montage of his highlights this season.
“My first season at Celtic has been a journey filled with highs, lessons, and memories for life. Whether we were at Paradise or away from home, I felt your energy every time I stepped onto the pitch. Thank you, fans, see you all soon”.
With three years remaining on his current contract, Engels has signalled his intent to build on his early success, stating he’s already looking ahead to the new season.
As pre-season approaches, the mood around Celtic Park is one of optimism, fuelled by young stars like Engels and the prospect of more fresh talent arriving in the weeks ahead.
