Arsenal and Manchester United will be going toe-to-toe in the upcoming Premier League season as both sides aim for success.

The Gunners, who won the League but narrowly missed out on Champions League glory, are aiming for back-to-back Premier League titles in the upcoming season.

United, on the other hand, having finished third in the League last season, are aiming upwards and are looking to improve during the campaign.

Both sides begin their respective Premier League campaigns this weekend, with Manchester United facing Hull City whilst Arsenal will play Coventry City.

Away from Premier League action, however, both outfits are also aiming to complete deals before the summer transfer window closes at the start of September.

The Standard have now revealed that The Gunners have agreed a deal to sign United full-back Habeeb Oguynneye.

Oguynneye is set to have a medical with the North London outfit on Thursday with an official announcement expected to take place on the weekend, according to The Standard.

The publication have also revealed that he will join Arsenal on a free transfer, with a 40% sell-on clause included in the deal, and will join up with the side’s Under-21s whilst also joining first-team training.

Arsenal will hold further talks with The Red Devils surrounding James Scanlon, as stated by the outlet.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Mikel Arteta’s side were working on deals for both players respectively.

With one deal now agreed, Arsenal’s focus may switch towards confirming the signing of Habeeb Oguynneye before looking at James Scanlon in more detail.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will move to replace the pair, or whether the club are happy to reduce its squad size and remain as it is.

With the transfer window closing soon, decisions will have to made quickly.
