Arsenal interested in Borussia Dortmund full-back

Arsenal have several top defenders in their squad, but they are not satisfied and want more quality in that area, which has led to a reported interest in Borussia Dortmund left-back Daniel Svensson.

The Swede is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga and is being monitored by several top teams, including AC Milan and Juventus. The Gunners are also interested in bringing him to the Emirates, despite already having several options available in his position.

Arsenal continue to seek improvement

The left back position is not an area where Arsenal currently struggle, with Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapié both capable of playing there. Myles Lewis Skelly can also operate in the position, giving the Gunners several options within their squad.

However, Arsenal have shown over the last few seasons that they are a team determined to improve constantly. The Gunners believe Svensson could bring new qualities to the position and potentially provide another option as they continue to strengthen their squad.

Competition for Svensson’s signature

Calciomercato reports that Svensson is a wanted man, with Arsenal among the clubs capable of securing his signature. The Gunners reportedly have a genuine interest in the defender and want to make a move for him happen as quickly as possible.

Interest from the Italian clubs is also serious, and they could offer Svensson regular starts immediately after he joins. That could make the competition for his signature difficult for Arsenal, particularly if playing time becomes a major consideration for the defender.

However, many players want to experience what it feels like to play in the Premier League, and that could give Arsenal an advantage in their pursuit. The Gunners can offer Svensson the opportunity to compete at the highest level while joining a squad that continues to demand improvement.

With several clubs interested, Arsenal may need to move quickly if they want to secure the Swede. Their existing options at left back mean they do not necessarily need to make the signing, but their desire to strengthen every area could encourage them to pursue Svensson.
