Arsenal have been tracking Christian Kofane since last season and have now stepped up their interest in the Bayer Leverkusen striker as they consider strengthening their attacking options. The Gunners are assessing potential additions who could provide more firepower and help them remain competitive across their campaigns.

There is growing speculation that Viktor Gyokeres could leave Arsenal, which would create a need for a replacement. As an important member of the squad, his departure would require the club to consider other options, and Kofane has emerged as a possible candidate.

Arsenal step up interest in Kofane

Gyokeres currently sits behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order and could face further competition if Mikel Merino continues to impress when given opportunities in attack. Merino performed well during the international break, although Gyokeres also delivered strong performances for his country.

Arsenal are therefore considering how best to strengthen their forward line, with Kofane among the players attracting their attention. The Bayer Leverkusen striker is emerging as one of the promising forwards in the Bundesliga, and the Gunners reportedly believe he has the potential to become one of the leading players of his generation.

His development has attracted attention from several clubs, making the situation increasingly competitive. Arsenal will be aware that interest in the young striker could grow further if he maintains his current form throughout the season.

Gunners make contact over potential transfer

According to Bild, Arsenal have already made contact with both Kofane and Bayer Leverkusen regarding a possible move to the Emirates. That reported approach suggests the Gunners are exploring the conditions required to secure his signature, although no agreement has been confirmed.

Arsenal know they are not alone in monitoring the striker. His performances over recent months have made him an attractive prospect across Europe, and further improvement this season could increase the number of clubs interested in signing him.

A January transfer appears unlikely unless Arsenal first sell one of their existing strikers. The club would need to consider its squad balance before bringing in another forward midway through the campaign, particularly if Gyokeres remains at the Emirates.
