Bruno Guimaraes has become one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League since joining Newcastle United from Lyon in January 2022.
The Brazil international has made 153 Premier League appearances for the Magpies, scoring 30 goals and registering 26 assists.
He captained the side that lifted the Carabao Cup in 2025, Newcastle’s first major domestic trophy in 70 years, and has long been regarded as vital to the club.
Guimaraes underlined his standing again at the World Cup, starting every game for Brazil and providing four assists before Carlo Ancelotti’s side were knocked out by Norway in the last 16.
His consistency has not gone unnoticed at Old Trafford, with Manchester United having viewed the 28-year-old as a potential option to replace Casemiro in midfield.
Eddie Howe moved quickly to dismiss that speculation at the time, insisting his captain was fully committed to the project on Tyneside.
However, Fabrizio Romano has reported Arsenal are preparing a new official bid, with Mikel Arteta pushing to bring the midfielder to the Emirates.
The Gunners have already seen a £55 million enquiry rejected, with a second approach worth £65 million as a package also knocked back by Newcastle.
Romano adds that a fee somewhere between £65 million and £90 million could be enough to accelerate talks.
Brazilian outlet UOL also report of an Arsenal offer worth around £72 million set to be made for the Newcastle star.
Bruno Guimaraes himself moved the situation this week, telling Newcastle that he wants the move to Arsenal.
However, the Brazil international is understood to have made clear he will not create problems to force his exit, leaving the final decision in the club’s hands.
