Fichajes reports that while Valencia have stood firm and turned down Arsenal’s initial offer, talks are still ongoing. The defender is open to a move to the Premier League, which could help push the deal forward if Arsenal come back with an improved bid.

This month, CaughtOffside reported that Cristhian Mosquera has turned down a contract extension from Valencia, signaling his desire to take the next step in his career with a move to the Premier League—specifically to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Arsenal’s offer is said to include a much higher salary than Valencia’s €3 million-per-year proposal, along with the opportunity to play in the Champions League and compete for major honors.

According to a report from Marca, Real Madrid are already scouting potential free agents for next summer, with both Mosquera and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly on their radar.

Meanwhile, Foot Mercato noted that PSG are also interested in Mosquera as they look to inject more youth into their central defense. A regular starter for Valencia, the young defender could be sold this summer to help ease the club’s financial situation.
