Brentford could be about to lose another key player soon with Aston Villa interested in one of their best players this season.

In the summer transfer window, Brentford lost Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United and Yoane Wissa to Newcastle United, two of their attacking stars who were responsible for most of their goals.

This time, Igor Thiago is attracting attention from Premier League clubs are his brilliant early season form.

The attacker has scored eight league goals in 11 appearances, a record which is only behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

A transfer battle could be on the horizon in the Premier League, with Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur all expressing interest in Brentford striker Igor Thiago, according to reports from Trivela and ESPN Brazil.

All three clubs are believed to have made initial enquiries regarding the Brazilian forward’s availability and price tag ahead of the January transfer window.

However, early indications suggest that Brentford have no intention of parting ways with their top scorer midway through the season.

The forward’s form has drawn the attention of several scouts across Europe, but it is the Premier League trio who have shown the most concrete interest.

A move to Aston Villa would be ideal for Thiago

More than Newcastle, the interest from Aston Villa and Spurs makes sense.

Both Villa and Spurs have struggled with their attackers this season who have not had the best output when it comes to scoring goals.

Newcastle, on the other hand, have the options of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, both signed in big money moves in the summer.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, are eyeing attacking reinforcements as they look to bolster Unai Emery’s squad for the second half of the campaign.

Despite Ollie Watkins’ presence, Villa’s lack of depth in the forward line has been exposed in recent weeks, and Thiago’s versatility, capable of leading the line or operating in a support role, makes him an appealing target.
