Chelsea are ready to sell Axel Disasi, and a good spell on loan at West Ham has increased interest in his services.
This is about the best news we’ve had all day, which is saying something.
French journalist Sebastian Vidal is this afternoon claiming that Aston Villa have joined West Ham in the chase for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi. Fulham are also mentioned as an interested party.
Chelsea paid a monster €45m for the defender back in 2023, and he’s now valued at €15m by TransferMarkt.
The Blues had Disasi in the “bomb squad” for the first half of last season, before a loan to Villa. They then couldn’t sell him in the summer, and repeated the same pattern this year, with the loan going to West Ham instead.
Now both those teams are interested in a permanent move for the big defender after he’s played a key role in the Hammers’ impressive fight back against relegation since January.
Having multiple teams interested should help in selling him, and we’d expect him to pick up a solid €20-25m fee.
Liam Rosenior is under huge pressure, and all the question marks which came after his appointment are being proved very valid right now.
Jan Paul van Hecke is the latest player to be linked with Chelsea ahead of a potential summer move, with the defender entering the final year of his contract.
