Aston Villa officially sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aston Villa have officially announced the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham United on their website.

Unai Emery’s side have been active throughout the summer as they prepare to compete in both the Premier League and Champions League during the 2026/27 campaign.

Villa have already turned to one former United player during the window, with Alejandro Garnacho joining Aston Villa on loan from Chelsea.

They have now moved for another player with significant Old Trafford experience, reaching an agreement to bring Wan-Bissaka back to the Premier League following West Ham’s relegation, as they announced on their website.

The 28-year-old will be joining Villa initially on loan, with the agreement containing a mandatory purchase clause.

Wan-Bissaka gave the green light to Emery’s project on Tuesday and is now expected to undergo his medical before completing the move.

Villa had initially attempted to secure the right-back on a straight loan, but West Ham rejected that proposal before negotiations continued and an agreement was eventually reached.

Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace in 2019 in a deal worth an initial £45 million and spent five seasons at Old Trafford.

He made 190 appearances across all competitions for United, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 before helping Erik ten Hag’s side lift the FA Cup with victory over Manchester City in 2024.

The defender left United for West Ham in the summer of 2024 and has since made 65 appearances for the London club across two seasons.

His latest move will give Wan-Bissaka the opportunity to immediately return to top-flight and Champions League football.

Villa have been searching for additional competition at right-back for Matty Cash, with Wan-Bissaka now set to provide Emery with another experienced option.

Once the medical and remaining formalities are completed, Villa will be able to formally unveil their latest summer addition.
