Aston Villa are actively pushing their way into the transfer market after having lost two of their star players this summer.

The Villans have lost two of their key midfielders in Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rodgers, who have gone to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.

As such, Unai Emery is looking to not only fill these gaps in the squad, but also strengthen it, with attention now turning to Alejandro Garnacho.

The former Argentina international left Manchester United last summer for £40 million to move to Stamford Bridge, however has struggled to establish his position in the squad in his debut season.

Now, The Express and Star have reported that Villa are pursuing the winger on a loan deal, hoping to lure hime to Villa Park this season.

Garnacho marks yet another target of Villa’s to have come through Old Trafford over recent years, haven taken both Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho on loan deals over the last two seasons.

While Rashford reclaimed his England spot and went on to join Barcelona after his time with Emery, Sancho has been left clubless as a free agent, awaiting to see who his next club will be.

For Alejandro Garnacho, who also has interest from AS Roma, Napoli and Saudi Arabia, a move could help him find his form once again and hopefully help him to reclaim a spot in the Argentina international side.

The 22-year-old was left out of the Argentina side who made their way to the final of the 2026 World Cup final, only to be beaten by Spain 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ferran Torres.

However, before thoughts can be had about rejoining the national team, Garnacho needs to impress once again at club level, and finding the right club for him will be key to achieveing that.
