Aston Villa hosts Brentford today as the Premier League returns following the international break.

Brentford enters the match in phenomenal form, holding onto fourth place in the table and remaining unbeaten this season after a dominant 3-0 victory against Chelsea just before the international break.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa sits in 16th place but are coming off a 3-2 away win over Tottenham Hotspur in their last league match before the break.

Villa will also seek to avoid a repeat of their previous encounter where Brentford edged them 1-0 in February in a close affair.

Unai Emery Wants Improvement at Home

While Villa did secure some crucial wins before the international break, including a win against Tottenham in the Premier League and Club Brugge in the Champions League, Unai Emery has called for improved performances at home.

The Villans have lost two games at Villa Park and the former Arsenal boss was particularly unhappy about the game against Nottingham Forest.

“I am especially happy how we finished before the break, especially in Bruges, against Coventry, against Tottenham.

“But we played a very ****** match against Nottingham Forest at home. So how we can react, how we can change our performance at home is very, very important,” Emery said.
