Atalanta have included Ademola Lookman in their Champions League squad after his failed transfer to Inter Milan this summer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nigerian’s status at the Gewiss Stadium remains uncertain.
Despite making the cut, Ademola Lookman is on the fringes in Bergamo.
Indeed, the 27-year-old tried to force his exit, as he desperately wanted to join Inter in this transfer window.
However, La Dea refused to sell two star forwards in one summer.
After letting Mateo Retegui move to the Saudi Pro League, Atalanta didn’t want to negotiate Lookman’s sale.
Therefore, Inter’s relentless pursuit of the former RB Leipzig star failed to come to fruition.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri never stood a chance despite tabling a substantial €45 million offer.
Meanwhile, Lookman’s attempt to facilitate his move to San Siro did nothing to soften Atalanta’s stance.
However, after refusing to join La Dea’s pre-season training, the diminutive forward has fallen out of favor.
As such, his inclusion in the Champions League squad may not necessarily be a sign of reconciliation.
