Atalanta do not expect to have Capocannoniere Mateo Retegui or winger Juan Cuadrado back for this weekend’s clash with Fiorentina.
It kicks off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday at 14.00 GMT.
This represents a battle for European places, as La Dea are in third and Fiorentina sit in eighth position, but still only five points adrift of Bologna in fourth.
Gian Piero Gasperini was hoping to get his top scorer back in time for this match, but Sky Sport Italia report that Retegui is still nowhere near fit after pulling out of the Italy squad for the Nations League ties against Germany.
Cuadrado is also not expected to recover in time for this weekend, joining Ibrahim Sulemana, Odilon Kossounou, Stefan Posch, Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini on the treatment table.
To make matters worse, star midfielder Ederson also sits out a one-match ban.
There are reports that Atalanta could use Daniel Maldini as a False 9, although Charles De Ketelaere is another candidate for the role, with Ademola Lookman in support.
It is hoped Retegui and Cuadrado can be available for the meeting with Lazio on April 6.
