Noni Madueke’s future increasingly appears to lie away from Arsenal unless his situation changes and he starts playing regularly again. The winger could be open to leaving the club if he continues to struggle for opportunities.
Madueke returned to Arsenal after helping England reach the World Cup semi-final and is expected to enjoy another successful season at club level. However, he has so far found it difficult to secure playing time.
Bukayo Saka has remained fit and in excellent form, while Max Dowman has become another option that Mikel Arteta cannot ignore. Both players prefer operating on the right wing, the same position Madueke favours, making it harder for the Arsenal manager to select him.
That situation is not what Madueke wanted, and he may now have to consider finding a new club.
The winger is a talented player, and two clubs are reportedly interested in adding him to their squads when the transfer window reopens. The Daily Telegraph reports that Juventus and Atletico Madrid have been monitoring his situation.
Both clubs could offer Madueke a more regular role. Juventus was already interested in signing him during the summer, while Atletico could provide the opportunity to play in the Champions League.
Madueke will therefore have an important decision to make if Arsenal becomes willing to discuss his departure. A move could help him regain confidence and return to the level that earned him recognition with England.
Juventus remains an attractive option because the Bianconeri have admired Madueke for some time. The club could give him an important role in attack and allow him to compete for regular first-team football.
However, Atletico’s participation in the Champions League could give the Spanish club an advantage. Madueke may prefer Madrid if he believes it offers the best combination of playing time and European competition.
Arsenal may still decide to keep him if his role changes during the coming weeks. If Saka or Dowman becomes unavailable, Madueke could receive more opportunities and convince the club that he remains valuable.
Unless that happens, Juventus and Atletico will continue to monitor the situation. A January move could become increasingly likely if Madueke remains behind both players in Arteta’s plans.
