The saga that is the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni seems to be constantly shifting with Manchester United keen on the Real Madrid midfielder.
United have been well known to be revitalising their midfield this summer, having targeted top players since the start of the year.
While building their midfield shortlist, reports emerged over an unnamed world-class star of LaLiga being high up on United’s list of targets.
In time, it emerged as Aurelien Tchouameni, who has thrived with both Real Madrid and France.
However, now we are facing conflicting reports on his future, with numerous accounts coming out of Spain.
Jose Mourinho is understood to be a fan of Tchouameni, however it’s also known that if Madrid want any major signings, they need a big sale.
United have been targeting the midfielder after signing Ederson from Atalanta, now just awaiting his medical to get the deal across the line.
Earlier today, news emerged that Madrid have in fact agreed a deal to sell Tchouameni to a Premier League side, with many expecting it to be The Red Devils.
However, Ramon Alvarez, a reporter for Spanish outlet Marca, has now taken to X to say that Tchouameni is expected to remain in the Spanish capital.
While Alvarez doesn’t dispute United’s interest, his sources are understood to be confident a move won’t take place.
Instead of Tchouameni, United have now signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea, although it’s not expected to be their last dip into the transfer window this summer.
As such, the Santos deal doesn’t close the door for Tchouameni, however, the limited remaining funds may make the deal more complicated.
Me consta que al Manchester United le gusta Tchouameni, pero mi información es que seguirá en el Real Madrid la temporada que viene. pic.twitter.com/WM7aUne26u
