The agent of Aston Villa winger and Jamaica international Leon Bailey has confirmed that there have been ‘around five’ clubs interested in signing his client this summer, and that any offer from Roma ‘has to be taken seriously and considered’.
Reports over the weekend claim that Bailey is on the verge of joining Roma on loan with an option to buy from Aston Villa.
Recent updates claim that the Giallorossi are prepared to spend a €3m fee to bring the 28-year-old in on loan for the 2025-26 season and that they will have an option to make the move permanent for €20m.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side were not the only side interested in picking up the former Bayer Leverkusen winger, though, as Bailey’s against Craig Butler has confirmed to The Gleaner.
“There are around five clubs who are interested in the player, but he is still a Villa player, and that is where he is focused on at this time,” Butler said in an interview over the weekend.
Butler went on to confirm that an offer from a ‘beautiful’ club like Roma must always be taken seriously.
“Roma is a beautiful club and city, so any opportunity that comes from them has to be taken seriously and considered,” Butler told The Gleaner.
