Marc Casado remains on Manchester United’s midfield shortlist as the club continue searching for another addition ahead of the 2026/27 season.

United have already strengthened the middle of the pitch by signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

However, Michael Carrick is still expected to add one more midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Several names continue to be discussed internally.

Manu Kone has admirers at Old Trafford, while Aurelien Tchouameni has also been monitored.

Sander Berge remains another player of interest after United renewed contact in recent weeks.

Carlos Baleba is also highly rated, although Brighton remain determined to keep hold of the Cameroon international.

Casado has been linked with the Red Devils on several occasions this year.

United first explored a move during the January transfer window before renewing their interest in April and again last month.

Barcelona set Marc Casado asking price

According to SPORT, Barcelona are now prepared to sell Casado this summer and have set a minimum asking price of €25 million.

The report states that the Catalan club believe the midfielder will struggle for regular playing time under Hansi Flick.

Barcelona are therefore waiting for Casado and his representative, Jorge Mendes, to decide which offer they want to accept.

While clubs from England, Germany and Italy have all shown interest, Sport report that the strongest proposals could arrive from Saudi Arabia.

Al Ahli are said to have intensified their pursuit in recent days.

The Saudi club are searching for midfield reinforcements after parting ways with former Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

Manchester United have monitored Casado’s situation for several months.

The 22-year-old informed his representatives earlier this year to listen to offers after struggling for consistent starts at Barcelona.

United view the Spaniard as one of several options as they continue evaluating the market for another midfielder.

Whether the Red Devils decide to match Barcelona’s valuation remains to be seen, with Carrick’s recruitment team still assessing multiple targets before making their next move.
