Barcelona have made it a fourth successive El Clasico victory over Real Madrid with a 4-3 victory at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic.
Barcelona came into the match as favourites, but it was Real Madrid that made the better start. Errors from Pau Cubarsi and Wojciech Szczesny lead to the latter fouling Kylian Mbappe inside the penalty area, and the Real Madrid man stepped up to score the opening goal of the match from 12 yards. The Barcelona goalkeeper dived the right way, but the ball was just out of his reach.
And soon after, Mbappe added his second. After picking up the ball in midfield, Vinicius Junior played his Real Madrid teammate in behind, and with only Szczesny to beat, he made no mistake.
It was the worst possible start for Barcelona, but they did manage to get a goal back soon after. Ferran Torres played on a corner, and it landed perfectly on the head of Eric Garcia, who made no mistake to reduce the arrears to 2-1. And on 32 minutes, Lamine Yamal curled home to make it 2-2, with Hansi Flick’s side responding brilliant to going two goals down.
And it would get even better for Barcelona two minutes after as Raphinha completed the comeback to make it 3-2 following an error from Dani Ceballos, whose collision with Mbappe allowed Pedri to claim the ball.
The first half goals were not done there as Raphinha added his second of the afternoon just before half time after being played in by Ferran, who made it three assists in 26 minutes. The goal again came from another error – this time, it was Lucas Vazquez that made the mistake.
Barcelona looked to consolidate their lead in the second half, but it was Real Madrid that scored the seventh goal of the game. And it was Mbappe that got it, as he was played in by Vinicius again to complete an excellent hat-trick.
Real Madrid substitute Victor Munoz missed a huge chance to make it 4-4 late on, just before Fermin Lopez fired home a fifth for Barcelona that was eventually ruled out for handball in the build-up. In the end, the back of the net was found no more, and it meant that the Catalans were victorious.
Barcelona now find themselves seven points clear of Real Madrid with only three matches to be played. As such, they can win the La Liga title next week when they take on Espanyol in Derbi Barceloni.

Brewers issue update on Jackson Chourio rehab timeline
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio was tearing it up in July before he strained his hamstring legging out a triple. He was placed on the injured list, and it only got worse from there. Less than 24 hours later, manager Pat Murphy said Chourio would be out beyond the 10-day minimum and possibly at least a month. On Saturday, beat reporter Curt Hogg shed another tidbit of light on the slugger’s timetable. It’s not necessarily worse news, but Hogg’s update probably does not illuminate much. Fans already knew Chourio was going to be out a while after Friday’s report, so this latest info isn’t surprising. It isn’t all that encouraging, either. It certainly suggests no expedited return schedule. Not to make assumptions, but the emphasis on the location of the damage versus evaluating its severity seems to indicate the Brewers are just hoping Chourio avoided a worse-case scenario. In that case, caution would indeed be first in the order of operations. Only after ascertaining clarity would it make sense to seriously estimate a recovery timetable. That he won’t be ready to immediately resume baseball workouts further points to a slow, methodical recovery process. For however long he remains out, the lineup will miss him badly. Chourio’s 17 home runs rank second on the team behind Christian Yelich, as do his 67 RBI. His .786 OPS leads the offense among qualified hitters. In 90 at-bats in July, he hit .367/.408/.600. The Brewers are resilient everywhere, but without one of their few genuine power threats and hottest bats, plus an everyday outfielder, they are courting a potential offensive slump. The most fans can hope for from Chourio is that he returns fully healthy by the first week of September. Until then, Blake Perkins and trade pickup Brandon Lockridge should see plenty of playing time while Yelich takes more reps in the outfield after getting most of his at-bats this season as the designated hitter.

One obstacle to this deal occurring is the Heat are often stubborn about how many assets are given up, so it's much more likely Leonard finishes out his rollercoaster career in L.A. or elsewhere. Stephen A. Smith Warns Gilbert Arenas On Drastic Consequences Of Treating Federal Charges As A Joke
Gilbert Arenas came back into the center of controversy years after his gun charges cost him a suspension in the NBA during his career. Earlier this week, Arenas was arrested by federal agents on charges of running an illegal gambling business, in connection with a member of an Israeli transnational crime group. Just a few hours later, Arenas was indicted, and he pleaded 'not guilty' and was allowed to submit a bail bond valued at $50,000. Following this, he went on a freedom press tour off-sorts, despite the trial date being set for late September. He called out multiple people, including Kwame Brown, and did not seem to have a care in the world as he openly admitted he would turn on the other defendants linked with him in this case. This press tour did not sit well with Stephen A. Smith, who has personally known Arenas for multiple years. In the latest episode he recored of his podcast, Smith directly addressed Arenas out of concern. Stephen A. started by clarifying that none of this is hostile, and he respects Gilbert Arenas and his knowledge of the game at a very high level. But he admitted he was “alarmed” by what Arenas said. “In light of what he's being accused of, however, I'm still gonna say to Gil, Bro, I need you not to play around. Because my brother, I don't want to see you in jail at all." “It's not a good look. It's nothing to laugh about. It's nothing to joke around about and think is funny when the feds come raiding your home. I don't want to see that. I don't want to hear about anything like that.” “I can assure you, anybody who wants to do business with you, and I'm one of those people. ESPN, Underdog, a whole bunch of sponsors and advertisers, we don’t want to see that. “Anybody that knows anything about you and your knowledge of the game and your ability to articulate and deliver your positions, my brother, you are a special talent. We don't want to see that [going to jail].” “And the reason why I felt compelled to come on the airwaves and address you directly is because I want to remind you of what really got you in trouble in the NBA to begin with. Remember that years ago…Remember all of that with the guns in the locker room? Remember all of that? Remember all of that that happened? “And you remember what really got you in trouble thereafter? Because, as bad of a look as that was, and as much as former Commissioner David Stern and others were ready to bring the heavy hand down upon you, what really exacerbated the situation is that you had a game a night or two later against the Philadelphia 76ers... You were joking around, feigning as if you were shooting guns.” “And David Stern went ballistic. It was like somebody like you had no place in this league. Because it's not a joking matter to other people. And the reality is, is that my brother, it shouldn't be a joking matter to you.” As a result of the gun charges in 2009, Arenas was suspended for 50 games as his behavior seemed to enrage David Stern, per Smith. Similarly, Smith believes that to a court of law, such behaviour after his arrest may not be seen as positively as Arenas hopes for it to be. The trial is set to begin on September 23, as Gilbert Arenas could be looking at 15 years in prison (three counts, five years maximum sentence for each).
