Bayern Munich make Kim Min-jae transfer decision

The future of Kim Min-jae at Bayern Munich has taken another twist after a fresh update emerged regarding the defender, who has previously been linked with Manchester United.

Back in June, reports claimed United scouts were continuing to monitor Kim Min-jae during the 2026 World Cup.

However, no concrete negotiations had taken place.

Since then, Manchester United have already announced the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea, while also securing deals for Karl Darlow and Youri Tielemans as Michael Carrick continues rebuilding his squad.

Despite those additions, defensive reinforcements have continued to be linked with Old Trafford throughout the summer.

Bayern Munich make Kim Min-jae decision

According to Sky Sports Germany, Bayern Munich have now decided against putting Kim Min-jae up for sale this summer.

The Bundesliga champions are not actively looking to part ways with the South Korean international despite speculation over his future.

However, the report adds that Bayern’s stance could still change if a sizeable offer arrives and Kim himself is open to accepting the move.

That means the door has not been completely closed on a potential transfer, although Bayern’s current intention is to keep the experienced centre-back.

Kim Min-jae remains under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2028 after joining the German club from Napoli in 2023.

The 29-year-old has been linked with Manchester United on several occasions over the past few years, including before his move to Bayern following Napoli’s Serie A title-winning campaign.

United’s interest was again reported in June, with the club said to be keeping a close eye on the defender’s performances.

For now, though, Bayern’s latest position suggests any club hoping to sign Kim would need to submit a significant offer before negotiations could even begin.

Whether Manchester United revisit their long-standing interest later in the window remains to be seen, but Sky Sports Germany’s latest update has made Bayern’s current position clear.
