Manchester United have already shown in recent windows that Bayern Munich remains a club worth watching for recruitment opportunities.

In summer 2024, United made a double signing, with Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui arriving at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag.

United’s scouting and decision-makers have never been shy about exploring the Bundesliga’s very top end, and Bayern’s market has regularly been part of that conversation.

Even beyond completed deals, there have been plenty of links to Bayern stars that have kept supporters’ attention.

In the summer, with United’s desperate need for a striker, before the signing of Benjamin Sesko, United’s long-standing interest in Harry Kane resurfaced.

Alongside it, rumours of a move for Joao Palhinha also emerged to plug the midfield gap.

Now, that Bayern Munich to Manchester United transfer route is being used again, this time through the women’s side.

Last week, CentreDevils revealed that United had sealed a deal for Bayern Munich’s Lea Schuller, with her move set to take place in January.

SheKicks has now reported that the Bayern Munich forward appeared to bid an emotional farewell to the club’s travelling support after Monday night’s 3-0 win away at Bayer Leverkusen.

Schuller was seen leaving the pitch in tears amid her upcoming move to Old Trafford.

Schüller did not feature in the match due to what was described as illness, but she was still present, watched from the stands, and then went onto the pitch at full-time to applaud Bayern’s supporters and embrace teammates.

Bayern’s own match report noted the result wrapped up their final league game of 2025, with the defending champions unbeaten at the top of the table heading into the break.

With the post-match moment in Leverkusen bidding goodbye to her fans, United don’t have to wait much longer to see Bayern’s influence felt in Manchester once again.
