Manchester United have had a tricky start to the 2026/27 season.

Without an out-and-out striker starting from the off, the Red Devils have been forced to attack between the lines more often than not.

It’s not a stylistic change that has worked for them.

Benjamin Sesko’s lack of fitness has meant Matheus Cunha often starts alone in the centre, a player who just does not offer the same physical presence as the 6’5″ Slovenian.

After a mixed bag start to life in Manchester in which he’s shown his potential, Sesko’s importance to the Red Devils is now more vital than ever.

United rebuilt their attack in 2025 and midfield in 2026, so it’s an understandable assumption that they will aim to renovate the defensive area of their squad next summer.

That will entail United not losing their most important players to ensure focus on just one dimension of their team – including Benjamin Sesko, a player who could become one of the Premier League’s best strikers in the coming seasons.

Juventus are one club who are looking at a move, according to reports from Italy. Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona could also renew their interest in the 23-year-old.

However, Manchester United fans will not expect the club to ask for a low fee, after the club bought Sesko in a £74m deal in 2025.

The move has shown potential of reaching its value, with the Slovenian scoring 14 times in 38 games.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Benjamin Sesko is valued at “around” €75 million by Manchester United, as Juventus and Barcelona both continue to look at moves for the goalscorer next summer.

Sesko is a player on Juventus’s list alongside Folarin Balogun, according to the website. The main problem for them is Manchester United’s contractual strength, Sesko is penned down at Old Trafford until 2030, and the valuation indicated is around 75 million.

It feels like a deal unlikely to take shape anytime soon, though plenty can happen before next summer’s transfer window.

Manchester United are in a good position with the striker of their future in Benjamin Sesko. Letting him go for a similar price to what they brought him in for from RB Leipzig would be a huge error.
