Thomas Frank essentially delivered a carbon copy of the Man City game. The first half was largely about gauging the opposition, and then from a few minutes into the second half, Spurs started to go through the gears.
6 Vicario had a good game, but I still believe he is a disaster waiting to happen with the ball at his feet. An 86% passing accuracy was good, but it was let down by a series of tedious tippy-tappy exchanges between his two centre-backs.
6 Spence gave a great performance generally, but he lost the ball on 23 occasions! A 74% passing accuracy was also less than ideal, but he did frequently find himself in advanced positions.
7 Micky’s 91% passing average was pleasing; his goal was even better, but he needs to. raise his long passing game. It’s great to see Spurs incorporate this more, but accuracy is our friend.
8 Romero really put in a shift, and his assist for Bergvall was something straight out of the Glenn Hoddle playbook. A 93% passing accuracy is what we strive for. More, please.
6 Porro had a mixed bag; his passing accuracy was on par with Spence, but there’s always a threat in the boy, and he created one big chance. Again, I’d like to see him played further up the park.
9 Bergvall was undoubtedly the best boy on the park. a phenomenal 92% passing accuracy, an assist and the way he took his goal was frankly straight out of a comic book (I’m thinking Roy of The Rovers).
5 Palhinha gave us one hell of an understated performance, an exceptional passing accuracy of 91% providing a measured line between defence and attack. The only real issue was that his involvement was quite sparing, and he only racked up 40 touches.
7 Sarr started slowly, as did they all, but exploded into life with a textbook back-post header. This was more or less the same template for the disallowed Romero goal, but much cleaner in its execution, as now West Ham players were able to chalk the goal off by cheating.
7 Xavi made an accomplished debut, with much swift passing. Clearly, the lad has a huge footballing brain, but he will need to work on his crossing accuracy; however, his longer-range balls were excellent.
4 Tel was by some distance the weakest link, and his standout stat was the one that revealed that he’s weakest in the air. One successful duel out of 8. I’ve no idea why we bought him.
7 Kudus came alive, the longer the game went on, what a player he’s going to be for us. His crossing was poor, as was his ability to retain possession, but otherwise, his energy and desire were infectious. Mohammed could have at least one late goal.
