Besiktas swap deal eyed by Manchester United

Manchester United are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer as they look to strengthen key areas of the squad, particularly in midfield.

Earlier this year, the club were already linked with a move for an experienced Premier League midfielder as a short-term solution during the January window.

That interest ultimately did not materialise into a deal, but it now appears the situation could be revisited ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

With Casemiro having announced his departure at the end of the season, United are expected to prioritise midfield additions, and several names have already been linked.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested interest in players such as Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson as the club evaluates different profiles.

However, attention has now turned back towards a previously linked target.

According to Turkish Football, Manchester United are preparing to reignite their pursuit of Wilfred Ndidi, who is currently playing for Besiktas after making the move from Leicester City earlier this season.

Ndidi has impressed in Turkey and quickly established himself as a key figure in midfield, attracting renewed interest from clubs across Europe.

United were said to be “seriously involved” in discussions during January, but Besiktas were unwilling to sanction a mid-season departure due to his importance to the team.

That stance could now change heading into the summer window.

Reports suggest that Besiktas may be open to negotiations if the financial package is right, particularly as they look to reshape their squad ahead of next season.

While initial talks earlier in the year did not lead to an agreement, a new proposal is now believed to be under consideration.

Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of structuring a deal that includes a player as part of the transfer package, rather than a straightforward cash offer.

The player in question is Altay Bayindir, who could be used as part of a potential swap deal to facilitate Ndidi’s move to Old Trafford.

Besiktas have been linked with Bayindir in recent months as they assess options in the goalkeeping department, although the Turkish side have also identified Illan Meslier as an alternative target.

The inclusion of Bayindir could make negotiations more appealing from Besiktas’ perspective, particularly given the club’s focus on strengthening multiple areas of their squad.

For Manchester United, securing a midfielder of Ndidi’s profile would help address a key area of need following Casemiro’s departure, while also adding Premier League experience to the squad.

With the summer window approaching, discussions are expected to develop further as both clubs reassess their positions and explore whether a deal can be reached
