Best of luck to Gallagher Lennon tomorrow…

Young Gallagher Lennon, the son of Celtic legend Neil this week signed for Dumbarton on loan from St Mirren. The 18 year-old defender signed for the Sons on a deal until the end of the season and could  be thrown in the deep end by making his debut against theRangers in the Scottish cup at the Rock on Saturday evening.

Talk about being thrown into the spotlight. It will no doubt be a weight on the young man’s shoulders, having such a famous and successful father, but if he’s inherited his dad’s sheer determination, he will do fine.

No doubt he will face the same abuse as his old man regularly did from the morons in the away end, but I’m sure he’ll be able to handle any flak flung his way, he was brought up in the West of Scotland after all. He knows what’s in front of him from Scotland’s Shame.

Here’s hoping the young man, if called upon, does himself and his family proud. He’s highly regarded at St Mirren and a good spell at the league two side will do him the world of good, and hopefully it can be the start of a successful career in the game. Maybe one day he’ll even play for Celtic!  You can only dream!

If he’s as half as good as his dad, he’ll do well and have a good career in the game. Best of luck young Gallagher.
