Manchester United’s recruitment has been largely focused in midfield this summer as the club aims to build strength and quality in the middle of the park.

The Red Devils have already faced setbacks in that aim with Elliot Anderson joining Manchester City, Sandro Tonali agreeing a deal to Tottenham Hotspur, and Bournemouth setting an extremely high valuation for Alex Scott.

United’s recruitment is not just focused on the middle of the park, however, with the club also linked to a number of attacking targets.

Last summer’s recruitment primarily focused on the attacking aspect of the side with Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha all making the switch to Manchester United.

Rafael Leao has been identified by the club as one possible option for this summer’s window whilst the club are also keen on striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Alan Nixon now reports that Manchester United attacking target Igor Tyjon has rejected the prospect of a new deal from Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

The journalist states that the offer, worth three times his current deal, was rejected due to the striker wanting a salary that was more double what was offered.

Nixon has also said that Blackburn are keen to keep the forward whilst Premier League champions Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the situation as they build on their long-term interest.

Manchester United made an offer for Igor Tyjon last year as they looked to bring the striker to Old Trafford, an offer that was ultimately rejected by Blackburn.

With Tyjon now reluctant to agree a new deal with the Championship club, Arsenal could look to make their move.

Manchester United could also look to place themselves back into the frame as a possible competitor although the possibility of that occuring is not yet known.
