Bojan Miovski was yesterday once again linked with Celtic, but in all likelihood it’s nothing more than a frenzied transfer rumour…
The former Aberdeen striker is a player of decent pedigree mostly due to his performances at the Dons for whom he scored 44 goals in 98 appearances before going La Liga side Girona in a £6.5 million move last summer, and as Celtic supporters we are therefore well aware of his ability.
The North Macedonian international is player I admire myself and was one who I firmly believe we should have pursued more aggressively to fill the void left by the departure of Kyogo back in January.
However that ship has sailed as Brendan Rodgers has already added Callum Osmand and the soon to be confirmed Shin Yamada to compete with Adam Idah, not to mention Daizen Maeda who can now also be considered as a Celtic centre forward, so I fail to see why we would further congest that area by signing another player.
Brendan likes a smaller squad so I can’t see him sanctioning the transfer of another striker unless he’s planning on letting one go which I seriously doubt – certainly NOT Daizen!
Miovski has endured a tough time at Girona and has found game time hard to come by, and he will be wanting his next destination to provide him with regular first team football.
That destination unfortunately won’t be Celtic. Much as I would have liked to see him in the Hoops it’s unlikely to happen this summer at least. There are reports of a few German sides keen on taking him to the Budesliga so maybe that is the most likely destination for the North Macedonian goalscorer.
