Bologna have completed the purchase of Nadir Zortea from Cagliari in a deal believed to be worth circa €7.5m.
The 26-year-old can play on the right or left, in defence or a more advanced wing-back role.
A product of the Atalanta youth academy , he had loan experiences with Cremonese, Salernitana, Sassuolo and Frosinone until the €5.1m sale to Cagliari last summer.
He flourished in Sardinia with six goals and two assists in 35 Serie A appearances for Cagliari.
It proved enough to earn a move to Bologna, where he had his medical this morning and put pen to paper on the contract.
Zortea had also been linked with other clubs during the summer, including Valencia, Napoli and Fiorentina, but it was Bologna who swooped and made the deal stick.
The Rossoblu have also signed Martin Vitik from Sparta Prague, Torbjorn Heggem from West Bromwich Albion, plus free agents Ciro Immobile and Federico Bernardeschi.
