Bologna confirm that defender Nicolò Casale will be out of action for the rest of 2025 after sustaining a muscular injury.
The centre-back pulled up during the 1-1 draw between Lazio and Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening.
He has now been diagnosed with a low-grade lesion of the femoral bicep in the left leg.
A statement from the club noted that Casale is expected to be out of action for circa three to four weeks.
It is a blow for the Rossoblu, who are already missing Remo Freuler, Martin Vitik and goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski until after the Christmas break.
Casale had made six Serie A appearances so far this season for Bologna, working as a central defender.
It is the second femoral bicep lesion of his campaign, having already been out of action from late August to mid-October.
The team is stretched a little thin between Serie A, the Europa League, Coppa Italia and imminently the Supercoppa Italiana.
