The first half of the season has been far from successful for Milan Futuro, currently at serious risk of getting relegated. As such, Daniele Bonera is expecting some reinforcement in January.
With just three wins in 20 games, Milan Futuro are currently in 18th place (out of 20) and the relegation threat is serious. As highlighted by MilanNews, between the youngsters needing time to adapt and Bonera embarking on his first head-coach journey, things haven’t clicked yet.
Although the players are young, the technical level is much higher than what has been shown, as also pointed out by several opposing managers in recent months. In short, the process is taking a bit too long and reinforcements will be needed to turn things around.
“This league is difficult, it’s an uphill battle but we are at the beginning and we will certainly try to improve where we haven’t been perfect so far. One thing we discuss every day is wanting to bring in some players who already know the league well,” Bonera recently said.
In other words, as the report continues, it’s a matter of bringing in over-age players who have the right experience to help Milan make the leap in quality. It’s not what the Rossoneri wanted at the start of the season, but it’s clearly needed in order to protect the Futuro investment.
