Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola won't rush Tyler Adams' introduction.

The USA midfielder arrived from Leeds last week carrying an injury.

Iraola said: "I think he will bring a special energy, i think he's a very dynamic player. He will help us with the ball, without the ball. He's a young player but with enough experience to be one of the players on the pitch that are pushing for the team."

On Adams' return from injury, he added: "I hope it's as soon as we can. But he's a player that hasn't played I think since March. He's coming from surgery with difficult situations in this period so we cannot rush it. We have to make sure that he also feels safe and he makes all the ticks before starting with us."

Philip Billing penned a new deal this week and Iraola also said: "For me, he can play as an eight, he can play as a number 10.

"Depending on the game, we can use him in both positions and we decided on the first game to go as an eight, in the second game he started as a number 10 because we needed him for pressing.

"He was the one who planted the first goal. He will help us in both positions."
