Bournemouth reject £60m bid for Alex Scott

Manchester United have been looking at midfield reinforcements this summer.

Manchester United have monitored his situation closely, especially after reports claimed he rejected a new contract with the Cherries.

That immediately raised fresh hope that a move could become possible this summer.

New reports, however, suggested a huge offer had already been turned away.

Bid for Alex Scott rejected

Despite the early speculation, it was not Manchester United who saw an approach rejected.

Instead, Chelsea were the club to test Bournemouth’s resolve.

Transfer journalists Alex Crook and Ben Jacobs reported on X that Chelsea recently submitted an offer worth just over £60 million for Scott.

The report states that Bournemouth immediately rejected the proposal.

The Cherries reportedly value the England youth international far higher and have made it clear they do not want to sell him this summer.

The update comes after Chelsea had already emerged as fresh competition for Manchester United in the race to sign the 22-year-old.

Scott continues to attract interest thanks to his performances in the Premier League, but Bournemouth remain determined to keep one of their key players.

That stance could complicate Manchester United’s pursuit if Carrick decides to step up interest before the transfer deadline.

Having already secured Santos and Tielemans, United are still expected to recruit another midfielder.

Whether Scott becomes that player remains to be seen, although Bournemouth’s latest response suggests any deal would require a significantly larger offer than the one Chelsea have already seen rejected.
