Chelsea were beaten easily by Nottingham Forest today, making it six games without a Premier League win for the Blues.
Jamie Carragher laid into Chelsea for individual mistakes at half time. At full time, he was able to take aim at the whole project.
“It’s shocking and it comes from the top,” the pundit said on Sky Sports.
“There’s five or six really top players on the pitch today and they’ve been beaten by Nottingham Forest’s B team. Less than 12 months ago, they were taking PSG to the cleaners.”
The decline truly is start. Carragher dug into where he thought it came from.
“There’s no connection between the players and the staff, the players and the fans.
“In some ways, it’s a good thing [for the game in general] because it tells you that football isn’t just all about spending money, buying players and this revolving door. It’s about creating togetherness and there’s nothing there. They look like a broken football club right now.”
Does anyone disagree with that? We’ve been saying it for a long time, the connection with the ownership and their project has simply never existing, and every passing week we get further from rebuilding it.
Joao Pedro’s late goal rewarded the Chelsea fans who had stayed until the bitter end at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea had four of their five sporting directors in the stands at Stamford Bridge today to watch the disaster unfold.
