Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes has enjoyed a period at Manchester United that has earned him legend status at the club.

The United captain continues to have ambitious plans despite winning just two major trophies in his first five years in England.

Fernandes is set to make a decision on his Manchester United future that will be music to Red Devils fans’ ears.

Bruno Fernandes’ plans for United

Bruno Fernandes is set to stay at Manchester United in his quest to win the Premier League and Champions League, reports Samuel Luckhurst.

The 31-year-old may have only won the EFL and FA Cup in four and a half seasons in Manchester, but is set to stay in a quest to win the best trophies there are to offer.

“Bruno’s definitely not someone we’d want to lose, I can say that, but the summer and beyond that, it’s difficult for me to kind of go too far with that, but certainly, he’s important for us and he’s definitely not one we would want to lose,” Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick said, according to ESPN.

It’s something the United boss has in common with Ruben Amorim: an admiration of how good Fernandes is, and the importance he brings to Manchester United. Even in their darkest times over the past five years, he has been an ever-present force.

Fernandes is under contract at United until June 2027, but the club has the option of extending this deal by an additional year.

Fernandes invested in INEOS project

If Fernandes really is set to stay at Manchester United beyond the summer, despite the offers that may come in, it shows he really does see the light in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS project.

Despite a rocky first period under the new minority owner, where Ruben Amorim led the club to a 15th-place league finish and a Europa League final loss, it appears the club is back on the up.

Having Bruno Fernandes there to spearhead this rise could be a huge bonus for United, as he is a player truly irreplaceable for the club.

Whether it’s a new era under a new manager or just a rebuild with Michael Carrick full-time, Fernandes pledging his allegiance to Manchester United will be huge.
