Bruno Fernandes officially wins first award of 2026/27 season

Bruno Fernandes has officially won his latest award in Manchester United colours following an excellent start to the season in the Premier League.

The Portuguese international had a blip against Hull City to start the season but hit three goals past Ipswich Town last weekend in United’s first Premier League home match of the season at Old Trafford.

Fernandes comes into this season as the defending PFA Players’ Player of the Year, having earned the support of his fellow players, whilst also being the defending Premier League Player of the Season.

His time at Manchester United has often seen him carry the side on his back, both as captain and as an outstanding player of the field, helping to bring success to The Red Devils.

With a good start to the season, United have now officially announced that Bruno Fernandes has been awarded the Player of the Month Award at the club.

The award adds to a growing list of accolades, a line he will look to add to during the course of this season.

At the end of last season, Fernandes won the Sir Matt Bubsy Player of the Year for the fifth time, overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea who both won the award four times.

The 31-year-old also won the Players’ Player of the Year award for a second consecutive time at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, following a record-breaking display in the Premier League.

With his first award of the season already sealed, it appears that the Portuguese international has started how he left off.

Tomorrow’s fixture against Everton will provide the midfielder with an opportunity to add to his goal contribution tally for the season whilst further proving his importance to Michael Carrick’s team.
