Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has picked up an individual award after another strong showing for his club.
Fernandes played a key role in Manchester United’s second-half fightback to secure a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The Portuguese midfielder assisted both Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount, moving ahead of Paul Scholes on Manchester United’s all-time Premier League assists list.
Despite ongoing talk about Fernandes’ deeper role this season, he continues to deliver in terms of goals and recognition.
Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Week after helping to guide Manchester United to a comeback win over Crystal Palace.
The 29-year-old’s passing from deep was at the heart of both goals, with Fernandes assisting Joshua Zirkzee for the equaliser before threading a lovely ball through to Mason Mount for what turned out to be the winner.
The performance earned Fernandes plenty of praise from United fans, and that has now been backed up by official recognition from the league. The midfielder picked up 32 per cent of the vote, just edging out Chelsea’s Reece James.
The award follows on from standout performances earlier in the season by Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire, who also picked up Player of the Week honours. Maguire claimed his award in matchweek eight after his goal against Liverpool at Anfield. A week later, Mbeumo earned it for his brace in a 4-2 win over Brighton.
Fernandes is now the third Manchester United player this season to earn the Premier League Player of the Week honour, joining Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire.
Maguire secured the accolade in matchweek eight after heading in the decisive goal during United’s 2–1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
Just seven days later, Mbeumo was voted Player of the Week for his brace in the 4–2 win against Brighton — a performance that also helped him secure October’s Player of the Month award.
With Fernandes now stepping up at a crucial moment, he continues the trend of United players delivering when it matters most.
