Last season was a struggle for the Red Devils, but Fernandes again proved his importance to the team, being named the club’s Player of the Year for a fourth time.

Matheus Cunha shares how Bruno Fernandes made him feel welcome

“It was when I arrived, he sent me a message, if I needed something, he’ll be there,” Cunha shared. “The impact in that season, everyone knows how big it was.

“I spoke with Pedro Neto as well. He’s Portuguese and he said to me, ‘if you go to Man United just look for him [Bruno],’ because of the relationship we have.”

When it comes to the fans, Fernandes stands out as one of the most well-liked players at United.

That same feeling seems to carry over into the dressing room too. New signings have spoken highly of how Fernandes helped them settle in quickly.

Cunha and Lammens haven’t spent much time on the pitch with Fernandes yet, but they were quick to praise their captain for making them feel at home.

Lammens hasn’t made his debut for United yet, but he was still eager to highlight how welcoming Fernandes was. He told MUTV: “First moment I met him, he made me feel welcome at the club. And coming from your captain, yeah, it’s a nice feeling.”

Cunha added: “It was when I arrived, he sent me a message, if I needed something, he’ll be there. I think he’s a great captain.”

What comes next for Bruno Fernandes?

Bruno Fernandes recently hit the 100-goal mark for Manchester United in their 2-1 win over Chelsea, and he’s now approaching another major milestone with the club.

The Portuguese midfielder has played 296 matches for United, leaving him just four short of his 300th appearance in all competitions.

Up next for United is a trip to Brentford, where Fernandes is expected to play a key role as the team aims to build on their recent victory.
