Bruno Fernandes has been absolutely essential for Manchester United over the last few years, having completely saved them under Erik ten Hag.
Last season, Fernandes was The Red Devils’ highest goal scorer and grabbed the most assists, with 19 each, carrying the side as they finished in 15th place.
Now, with the signings of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha helping to carry the load, The Red Devils are once more fighting for European football.
However, Fernandes’ future is up in the air, with the only guarantee of him staying next season being if they should qualify for the Champions League.
As such, with Fernandes’ contract up in 2027, this summer marks United’s last chance to cash in on their captain, with Al-Hilal offering a massive £100 million last summer.
Now, The Daily Mail have reported that Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White is being monitored as a potential replacement for Bruno Fernandes.
Although nothing has been agreed to see the United star leave Old Trafford in the summer, United are naturally going to want a Plan B should anything lure the Portugal international away.
The Forest attacker is understood to have a release clause in his new contract after The Tricky Trees rejected a £60 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
As such, Morgan Gibbs-White now joins teammates Ibrahim Sangare and Elliot Anderson on the United watch list.
While Anderson has been a long-term priority for The Red Devils, Sangare has emerged recently as a potential replacement for Casemiro.
The Brazil international is set to leave Old Trafford at the end of his contract this summer, with the midfielder recently visiting Miami amid links to Inter Miami.
As such, the Manchester United midfield could be set for a major remodel this summer as their attack experienced just before the current season.
