After advanced talks with Sassuolo , now Inter are fielding a new proposal from Villarreal for Canada international Tajon Buchanan.

The 26-year-old spent the last six months on loan with Villarreal, where he tried to rediscover his form following a serious injury when he fractured his tibia on international duty in July 2024.

Buchanan will not be given another loan

Having returned to base, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio warns the Nerazzurri now want to cash in on the player by completing a permanent sale rather than another loan.

With that in mind, they have been in advanced negotiations for a sale to Sassuolo for €7-8m, which would keep him in Serie A.

Now Villarreal have seemingly come back in with a new proposal, but have been told in no uncertain terms by Inter that another loan is not on the cards.

It has to be a permanent sale, or at least a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Inter paid €7.3m to buy Buchanan from Club Brugge in January 2024 and he made only 17 competitive appearances for the club.
